note: i'm always genuinely enthusiastic about gen fic and would love platonic takes on any pairings mentioned. shipfic (of any rating unless specified otherwise) is equally welcome where requested!

notes:

forever looking at worldbuilding + metanarrative commentary when it comes to tbhx; feel free and invited to play with the trust system and implications thereof, or to play with the commission and the larger plot at work in tbhx.

besides that: character/dynamic studies always a fun time— i enter and leave every fandom wanting in-depth backstory exploration of certain side characters working above the protagonists' heads, and i'd love to see that for these characters in any form! the dynamics of the different ceos with each other, the commission, and their own heroes (sometimes other companies' heroes too tbh) are each equally interesting to me

if you'd prefer for something ship-based or pwp-based: i'm fine with anything ship-wise for the ceos so long as everyone involved gets to keep their sharp edges (let them keep their amorality + canon priorities + being at the top of a deeply corrupt system!), and curious what you'd go for. i'm equally happy to receive something wholly gen though!

specific characters:

micky: always charmed by smiling manipulation + scheming, etc. compelled by the ruthlessness + the odd partnership with liu zhen, and compelled by his dynamic with his heroes... what is he doing? would be interested in either his perspective on any of his heroes or vice versa via them observing him (queen particularly here—given the plotpoint of liu zhen + spotlight org—but any of the others could also be interesting!). would also particularly love backstory exploration in any form here...?

yan mo: infinite amounts of potential to me with any dynamic he has in canon. as jumping-off points: zero as the deity he'd known and continues worshipping; liang long + grooming + the odd familiarity between them; yang cheng + the targeted plan to destroy his current life and create a new e-soul (pauses. yan mo + old e-soul too as a dynamic...?); ghostblade + assassination. or with any of the other ceos: zac + the split-off from fomo and their respective philosophies wrt heroes; shang de + the grudge regarding shang chao; micky + perhaps a glance at (mis?)alignment in priorities/approaches with respective heroes.

zac: i feel like we have the least on zac as a character, but deeply compelled by how fomo works as a company + his own smiling amorality(?) and focus on numbers/stats. the conversation sending ahu off to x in e24 was particularly interesting to me— the playfulness while using ahu as a tool. forever considering him signing luo li in the wake of the ruins incident and potential dynamics there... and anything tying him to the other ceos (esp yan mo!) or analyzing dynamic between them as a group + the commission would be fun too.

(side note: zero wasn't nominated, but if you'd like to write something on his backstory instead of my listed characters, i'd be curious about it too!)

oniisama e (asaka rei, ichinomiya fukiko)

notes:

(request tagged as: my gift must feature all of my chosen character tags; or it may use exceptions I explain in the form)

really adore the way oniisama e writes women and the interpersonal, tangled mess tied into it— the melodrama, the retro shoujo, the knives being thrown around. rei's delightful to me: self-destructive drug addict with sisterissues and gender going on. obsessed with her forever. fukiko herself is also fantastic to me, i love the sharp manipulation she's known for and the way she feels almost fragile despite it. i would love to see anything exploring those two as a dynamic and the toxicity there! (rei's suicide attempt baited by fukiko; fukiko haunted by rei— go wild, i think there's so much to chew on there)

besides these two: if you'd prefer, i'd be interested in seeing exploration of rei and kaoru's dynamic as well (the way they understand each other! kaoru holding onto life where rei runs away from it! butch4butch...) and have an exception to the "gift must feature all my chosen character tags" requirement for if you'd prefer to focus on them! (alternatively... focus on fukiko/nanako perhaps? maybe in the aftermath of rei's death, maybe before as a mess of manipulation and something else)

dnw/exceptions:

dnw focus on henmi or on ichinomiya takashi (they can show up; i just don't want them to be a focal point of a work. please don't mention them solely to insult them though, either). exception to my incest dnw for rei/fukiko if that's the direction you'd like to take this in.
 

 

revolutionary girl utena (kaoru kozue)

notes:

how utena grapples with its heavier topics through an abstracted/surreal/metaphorical lens and also makes insightful commentary on them is always interesting to me— i think there's a lot that can be done through that tone. beyond rgu as a whole: fascinated by kozue and the tangled mess of her dynamic with miki and the antagonism/love there (the way he idolizes a false version of her and the way she responds back!), and fascinated by how she can foil nanami and anthy respectively as rose brides and as sisters-to-brothers. interested in the animal imagery in application to kozue as well. anything exploring any of that would be fun to see; feel free to go in unexpected directions as well if you think there's a potentially intriguing dynamic there (low-key eyeing kozue + utena for a clash in perspectives, or kozue-akio for the canon dynamic! anything else too!)

if you're interested in shipfic (or pwp), i enjoy that, but prefer when everyone involved keeps their teeth + some amount of antagonism. no particular preferences on pairing, but would prefer femslash for kozue if it's framed in a positive light. gen + character/dynamic studies in any form are also welcome and i enjoy them equally!

 
dnw/exceptions:

feel free to ignore my incest dnw given canon, but please don't write me any explicit sex scenes for kozue/miki (kozue/anyone else is fine!); dnw focus on saionji (including him (or his dynamic with kozue) as part of a greater whole is fine, i just don't want him as the focus of the work). (belated note: underage at canonical age is also fine, i would just prefer the canonical ages not be mentioned/emphasized, or alternatively would prefer futurefic for sexual content)
 

 

bat eater & other names for cora zeng (yifei liu, cora zeng)

notes:

primarily just very curious where you'd want to take this one— i enjoyed bat eater & other names for cora zeng for the wet horror and the visceral way it keeps you tight in cora's head and doesn't flinch from going brutal. each of the characters are interesting in their own way, and i'd be interested in seeing what you'd do with them.

briefly: yifei's backstory is deeply intriguing (everything about her! i'd adore a backstory exploration peeking into her head and her past); the dynamic between cora-yifei-harvey is a lot of fun and i'd love to see it being played with (you could do so many things with them, but particularly would love something surface-level lighthearted with the undertones of something more fucked up behind it); cora's ever-present ocd is always so chewy to me; and i'm fascinated by the relationship between cora and delilah in many ways (horrible, messy sisters!).

ship-wise, cora/yifei or cora/delilah would both be fun to me (maybe cora/hungry ghost!yuxi...?), but feel free to stay wholly gen.
 

dnw/exceptions:

please be careful in the portrayal of cn culture + sinophobia, given how heavily the book deals with them both! dnw "mundane" au settings—e.g. coffeeshop/flowershop/etc aus—where hungry ghosts don't exist (it's fine if you maintain canon-being-based-in-horror there, though); dnw aus where delilah doesn't die (she can come back wrong if you'd like, though, and pre-canon that doesn't address it is fine). on the other hand, exception to my general incest dnw for cora/delilah if you'd like to play with them.

 

clear & muddy loss of love (qi yan | qiyan agula, nagsi jiya, the masked person | li yanru)

notes:

really fond of jwqs— basically anything you write me will be appreciated! i'm compelled by the femslash dynamics (unexpected rarepairs welcome, canon pairings equally fun) and simultaneously very compelled by all the politicking and scheming going on. feel free to go for anything not in my dnw!

note that i'm happy to see all three of shipfic, pwp, and gen equally for this one and have no preferences there. aus + canon-adjacent work are also both equally welcome— forever tossing around urban fantasy or sci-fi style au concepts for this cast, honestly? i would prefer you keep to a similar scale when it comes to violence (murder and ruinous revenge stays on the table, etc) regardless of au, but have no preferences beyond that.

specific characters:

qiyan agula: qi yan living inside a torture labyrinth about how much she likes jingnu (she's so in love!!! hello!!!!!!) and simultaneously scheming ruthlessly and chasing her goals is deeply compelling to me. i like her best clever and persistent and horribly tormented; i think she should be a bit pathetic and also deeply competent. would be intrigued by anything you would do with her...

nagsi jiya: forever pulled in by jiya's femme fatale ways... her own scheming and her loyalties (or lack thereof) are so interesting! i could see anything ship-wise for her (casual badidea fwb/hookups is one of my favorite flavors for relationship dynamics ever, whether in a romantically shippy way or not— would be really intrigued by it and would love to see this with unconventional/unexpected pairings ), and: would also just love character studies and explorations on what she's doing.

the masked person/li yanru: not to ask for a 100k epic exploring the masked person's backstory, but. well. outstretching my hands and making pleading eyes at you (/joking; this is solely to say any length of backstory exploration would be deeply appreciated). very, very intrigued by her conceptually (her dynamic with qi yan! her scheming! her history! the cruel ruthlessness and her feelings about the kingdom and her past!) so: would be thrilled to see her at all and really curious to see what you'd do for her

dnw:

having canon couples not matter to each other/never be romantically into each other (rarepairs are fine, polyamory is fine, casual hookups with other people are fine, complicated breakups are fine. the feelings between the canon dynamics in question don't have to be the focus, i just don't want them ruled out altogether); roleswap aus; canon setting aus where the war between the wei kingdom and grass plains doesn't happen or happens differently/non-canon setting aus where an equivalently impactful event doesn't happen
 

 

bluebeard (any)

notes:

mostly, i'm just curious on any direction you'd like to take this— i have no particular thoughts here except that i'd enjoy something which leans into the horror aspects...? the creeping feeling that something is wrong/that there's some danger underneath the surface. something setting you on-edge that feels sourceless until it isn't. i'd love to see takes on this that explore bluebeard's previous marriages, or that explores bluebeard's last wife's life from a post-canon lens, or just: scenes from a marriage that won't last. reimaginings/retellings are great as well.

dnw:

dnw bluebeard portrayed as not-dangerous in direction of the last wife (it's fine if she at some point reads him this way, but it shouldn't be the truth, and i'd prefer something unnerving to remain about him even through this perception). on the other hand, waiving my general dnw for rape, incest, non-canon family designations, and underage for this one; feel free to lean into the horror aspect! (caveat that for underage below 15, i would still prefer it either off-screen or portrayed in minimal detail/not meant to be hot)
 

 

teppuu (ishido natsuo, karin kontani, mawatari yukuzo)

notes:

so, so fond of teppuu as a manga! it lets its women go mean and unlikable and intense in a way i am very charmed by, and i think the dynamics between the characters are excellent and rich. fond of the way it doesn't hold back when it comes to brutality + violence (not an aspect that necessarily plays into fic, but also the designs+artwork feeling very human is one of my favorite aspects...). go for literally anything ship-wise as long as it's f/f (i'm fond of rarepairs + unconventional pairings!), and i welcome all three of shipfic, pwp, and gen for this one. my only request for aus/canon-adjacency is that you preserve how physically brutal these characters can be with each other!

specific characters:

natsuo: her!!! my favorite horrible, genius mess who i spent the manga both loving and rooting against. fascinated by any of her dynamics with anyone from any angle: particularly looking at sanae (the complicated and intense ex-friendship!), kirido (the shitty rivalry and training together!), and karin (ruthless mentorship! how karin knows she sucks and picks her up as a student!). exploration of her brother issues or her sense of ennui and chasing of a challenge would be fascinating as well...

karin: this is a long shot, but if you're interested— i walk out of everything ever looking for backstory exploration or just the internal perspectives from a generation above the protagonist, and teppuu is a lot of fun for that. we get a look at karin that intrigues me; i'd be thrilled to see anything about her... her commitment to mma, the way she mentors/teaches, the "empress of the east" angle and her rivalry with "the witch of the west". genuinely anything to explore her and what makes her up as a character would be great.

yukuzo: forever obsessed with how yukuzo is a freak and that her unrelenting persistence is disturbing and also the way that she maintains that hungry drive for more with mma. she's so charming to me! her rivalry with natsuo is great (they're very shounen-rivalry in intensity and a sense of odd respect, which i love); the sharpness in her cheerful childhood friends dynamic with lindsay (the troubled + bloody start with lindsay picking up on something wrong with her, the way they're so close); always looking intently at the dynamic with cordreiro (how he trusts her skill/enthusiam, how he pulls her forward with mma while knowing it's not the best for her, and just: i always adore weird mentorship dynamics).

dnw:

belated note to add a dnw exception: underage at canonical age is fine, i would just prefer the canonical ages not be mentioned/emphasized, or alternatively would prefer futurefic for sexual content.

sfw: character bashing; kidfic; non-canon pregnancy; infantilization of child characters; pure fluff (it's fine so long as you make an effort; i'm just probably not the best recip for wall-to-wall plotless/uncomplicated cuteness); established couple + unicorn as a dynamic in polyamory, unrequested incest, non-canon family designations (e.g. [A] is [B, their mentor figure they met two days ago]'s child). if a character is significant to another character in canon, don't AU or otherwise write that (and any adjacent intensity in their relationship) out of existence (e.g. if [A] and [B] are canonically siblings who grew up together, please don't make them unrelated strangers; it's fine so long as you make an effort). please no lingering on unrelated-to-canon irl modern politics/political events.

nsfw: anything related to watersports/scat, daddy/mommy kink, ageplay, omegaverse, breeding/lactation/pregnancy, D/s with more than 2 people in the room (nonsexual is fine), mindbreak (temporary/defined more loosely is fine; i just don't want porn/hentai bad ending style), underage below 15, rape/noncon (on-screen violent, explicit rape/noncon is a no; past or off-screen rape/noncon is fine if it isn't lingered on; dubcon (defined very broadly) is fine)
